A lifeline to the residents of the Marquesas Islands, the Aranui 3 delivers everything from livestock and cement to four-wheel drive cars and schoolbooks. While the ship loads and unloads on the six inhabited islands (usually around 14-stops) the Aranui 3 passengers are taken ashore onboard a fleet of whaleboats to visit valleys dotted with sacred ritual sites and ancient stone tikis (second only in importance to Easter Island), experience the local culture and handicrafts and explore the unspoilt nature of these lush untouched islands.
Four-wheel drive vehicles driven by locals take guests on spectacular jeep safaris over the mountains to mysterious, unspoilt jungles - still much the same as described by Herman Meiville in his best-selling, mid-nineteenth century novel, Typee.
The Aranui sails to the Marquesas Islands approximately every three weeks throughout the year with prices starting at Euros 3443.50 per person. For those looking to travel in September, Aranui 3 has a special 10% discount offer on the 26 September - 9 October 2009, 14-day adventure cruise starting and ending in Papeete, Tahiti. The offer applies to passengers travelling in the suites, deluxe and standard cabins. Prices start at Euros 3128.50 per person sharing a standard twin-bedded outside cabin with private facilities, including all land-based sightseeing excursions and taxes. Flights to/from Tahiti are not included in these prices.

Peter Deilmann has announced two new 14-day "Fall Foliage" cruises, showcasing Autumn's vibrant colors as the luxury flagship 520-passenger MS Deutschland makes its way along the Eastern seaboard of Canada and the U.S.
While the Oct. 6, 2009 departure focuses mostly on Canada and the Oct. 20 sailing spends much of its time in the U.S., they both share many of the region's most popular ports -- Bar Harbor, with its soaring granite cliffs; Halifax, of maritime renown; Sydney, famous for its rocky coastal scenery; and Quebec, whose forests are brilliant with autumnal foliage.
Fares are reduced to $4,200 to $15,500 per person, double, a savings of up to 26% over normal fares of $5,700 to $17,000.
