Princess Cruises' Princess Kids adds Miami Seaquarium programming. New video series gives young passengers a greater understanding of Caribbean Sea Life
Princess Cruises and the prestigious Miami Seaquarium have joined together to expand the line's educational partnerships that combine fun and learning for junior cruisers.

Young passengers participating in the onboard Princess Kids youth program during Caribbean sailings can now watch a specially produced series of videos designed to be both fun and educational, plus participate in a number of fun activities designed by the Seaquarium's education department to reinforce the video messages. The four titles give kids insight into such topics as "Baby Animals," "Whales, Dolphins and Training," "Fun Fishy Facts," and "Aquatic Alert."

"We are especially pleased that this exclusive partnership with the Miami Seaquarium -- South Florida's most popular tourist attraction and a champion for the appreciation of marine life -- enables us to offer an even greater range of activities for our junior passengers," said Dean Brown, Princess' executive vice president of customer service and sales. "This video series and companion activities give Princess Kids participants a unique way to learn about the sea life all around them on their vacation."

Youth Counselors who work on Princess' Caribbean-based ships have completed a special training session at the Miami park, enabling them to lead their young charges through a number of fun activities which tie in to the video series. Each of the four 20-minute videos was designed to teach children about sea life they may see as they travel through the Caribbean.

For example, the first tape in the series, "Baby Animals," introduces kids to the many youngsters they might find at the Miami Seaquarium -- from newborn dolphins and sea lions to recently hatched sea turtles and young fawns. Other videos similarly use animals at the park to give kids a glimpse of the natural world around them.

The Miami Seaquarium partnership joins other unique Princess Kids programs including Glacier Bay National Park Service Junior Rangers, California Coastal Commission's Save Our Seas, and California Science Center activities on select voyages. Princess Kids offers a wide range of fun activities for children between the ages of three and 17.
Children are welcomed with a myriad of games and activities on all Princess ships, and are supervised by a dedicated staff of youth activity professionals. Three distinct, age-specific programs feature age-appropriate activities, often with separate facilities.

Miami Seaquarium, the number one tourist attraction in South Florida, is a family-oriented marine-life park open to the public 365 days a year. The park provides visitors with a greater understanding and appreciation for marine life through shows, presentations and marine-life exhibits. The Seaquarium's education department focuses on teaching the public about the challenges facing fragile ocean environments.
The park is also authorized by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to rescue and rehabilitate marine mammals and other sea life. Additional information about Miami Seaquarium is available at www.miamiseaquarium.com.
